Classroom Attire & Shoes

Ballet classes:

Girls: Required black tank leotards (Liberts #609) will be available to purchase the first day of class. Tights of any color may be worn to class. Ballet pink tights are available for purchase in the office and will be required for performances. Hair should be pulled back off of the face in a bun, braid or ponytail. Ballet skirts are optional. Boys: Black jazz pants or slim fit sweatpants, a tight fitting shirt. Shoes: Girls wear pink ballet shoes and boys wear black ballet shoes.

Jazz/Lyrical classes:

Girls: Biker shorts, jazz pants, or slim-fitting sweat pants with a leotard. Hair should be pulled back off of face in a bun, braid or ponytail. Boys: Wear black jazz pants or slim fit sweat pants, a tight fitting shirt. Shoes: Jazz shoes or dance paws are appropriate for girls and black ballet or jazz shoes for boys.

Clogging classes:

Girls & Boys: Sweats, shorts, or leggings and t-shirts are appropriate for clogging classes. No jeans in class. Shoes: Used clogging shoes are also available at the studio for purchase and new clogging shoes may be ordered through the studio. Tap shoes may also be purchased at DI or other thrift stores. Clogging taps may be purchased from local shoe repair stores. (Clogging teams have different shoe requirements. Attend the team meeting for more details).

Tumbling classes:

No loose fitting clothing in class. Loose clothing may get in the way and cause injury. Girls: Slim fitting sweats, jazz pants or shorts may be worn with a leotard with bare legs or footless tights. Bare feet. Boys: Slim fitting sweats or shorts may be worn with a tight fitting shirt. Bare feet. 

Ballroom classes:

Girls: Leggings or jazz pants should be worn to class. Skirts will be provided in class or dancers may wear their own skirt. Slim fitting shirts. Boys: Pants that are easy to move in are required for boys. No jeans in class. Shoes: Ballroom shoes can be ordered at the studio.

Hip-Hop:

Girls & Boys: Sweats, shorts, or other loose-fitting pants and t-shirts are appropriate for hip-hop classes. Shoes: Tennis shoes that tie. 

Please Note: Dance shoes (tap/clogging, ballet, jazz, ballroom) should NOT be worn outside the studio. Grit & dirt can cause damage to shoes as well as to our floor. Please help your children to keep their shoes in good repair (tighten loose screws, remove sharp pieces, etc.).
